The first mitt turned out way too big for mom’s hand, so I frogged it and adjusted the pattern - I took out a pattern repeat…

CO 28 sts, worked uneven rib for 25 rows.
First increase round ended with 29 sts.
Thumb gusset knit across 14 sts.
Increased thumb gusset until I had 13 thumb sts.
Knit hand until it measured 4 in. (31 rows)
started with k12 for short row shaping, then continued with 2 sts less for each row of the short row shaping

Mom is a terrible hand model. The last pic she modeled for me is a photo essay on her feelings about hand modeling.
