Making three pairs of these mittens for a walking trip to the Cairngorms with friends, using up some Herdwick wool that I’ve had in stash. Knit at a tighter gauge, I’m hoping its waterproof qualities will help keep hands warm in the rain.

Very pleased with these - they knit up fairly quickly and I like how the thumbs carry the pattern along. I knit the first pair in a darker Herdy wool; the second pair in a lighter grey Herdy and then mixed the two shades for the third pair as I didn’t have enough left of either for two mittens.
