Notes

7th February 2020
I have unpicked, taken in the sides (with a row of machine stitching then scissors) and knit smaller, long sleeves. Stupidly I didn’t make the shoulders narrower but it’s fine… it’s really beautiful and many thanks to Martin Storey for the design! Bring on winter, I’ve had enough of summer this season and always prefer to wear my woollens.
26 October 2019
I have almost reknit the sleeves, long this time.
NOTE: When working any intarsia like this, with fiddle details, it’s Way Better to cut lengths and leave them hanging, than to wind into little balls. It’s easy to pull a single thread out of a scrum, but difficult to untangle balls or bobbins.
I’ve used bobbins on Quilt because they are patches of colour, not little all over the place stitches.

I wore my new jumper today and I think it looks a bit too big? I made mine 8cm longer in the body, but needn’t have! Phau!! More flatterng to be a close fit I think. And do I want long sleeves? Maybe I do?
So next, after consulting with a trusted critic (daughter/s) I think I will both run it in at the sides (as in steek it kind of thing) (after frogging the bottom rib) and knit a new bottom rib… making it only short, rather than long as in the pattern.
I love the long rib but it accentuates my tummy.
Sad Face/Shrug/Eye Roll. Poking Out Tongue face.
Determined to go back on my 5/2 diet asap! Starting Friday.
My gauge is out, as usual. It’s meant to be 23 stitches and 32 rows per 10 cm. I’m 22 x 34. I think I’m just a loose knitter. Buggerit.

Bad night time photos… I haven’t tried it on yet… little bit nervous… I’ll try it tomorrow when I’ve got a proper bra on.
5 August 2019
A whole year! But I have done a lot of stuff in between.
With the intarsia, I cut lengths and left it all hanging, rather than constantly untangling little bobbins or wound balls. It made a lot of difference to the ease of working with so many bits.
I had thought to embroider duplicate stitch highlights, but quite like it as is, i think! The colours make it old Hungarian or something!
To match, I’ve just now finished a little pair of tiny owls wristees with some of the scraps, since I did a short sleeved version.
Just about to sew it up and knit up the neck.
A Long job to sew in all of the ends, but it’s kind of methodical and soothing… you just have to have a movie on or something.
31 July 2018
I had no intention of purchasing this today…. Whilst I love the colours in the pattern, they wouldn’t suit my skin nor mood, so I picked ‘Ancient’, a deep taupy colour, for the main. Noice! Can’t wait to get to it!
