Notes

Wonderfully detailed and helpful pattern. This is the first jumper I have knitted and I’m sure I wouldn’t have been able to manage it without Danskknit’s clear instructions.

The sweater is knitted top down, which calls for M1 increases for the raglans. I followed the pattern’s recommendation for a simple backwards cast-on for the increases, and I have to say that I’m delighted with my raglans. I think they look neat and you can’t detect any holes.

The only area where I faltered was when it came to picking up stitches from the sides and neck for the shawl collar. My first effort came to 70 stitches and the collar turned out too small, rucking the chest area. Second time round I picked up just 4 more stitches - 74 in total, but using the larger needles, and this made all the difference. If I were to knit this again I’d pick up a couple more stitches either side for this size. And as others have done, I added two more short rows to the collar.

The last photo shows how much yarn I had left over from 4 x 50g skeins of Artesano DK. In total I used 70g of the red/brown, and 85g of the grey.
