Worth the pain…

Don’t get me wrong - the pattern wasn’t too difficult, but if you happen to drop one of those tiny stitches - especially in the garter rows - for my not-so-good eyes, they were nigh on impossible to pick up, especially with splitty yarn like Cashmerino. And if you frog back a few rows you have the same problem, picking up a whole row of minuscule stitches which are determined to fight their way further downwards. So I had to undo and pick up one stitch at a time. Several times.

As I said, it was worth it. You’ll want to put these little cuties on your mantelpiece when you’ve finished, and bask in the ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ from every one who sees them. Be warned that they’ll ask you to knit them a pair. Even if they don’t have a baby.

Huge thanks to Yarnthrower for sharing her clever pattern, and big thanks also to PixelBamf for her suggestions and mods. I have to say that the addition of the cable took the booties to a whole other level of cuteness.
