Notes

3/19 added extra stitches joining the front and back shoulders, and my formerly hideous mess looks fine. I still would recommend, to anyone starting a new project with this yarn, to consider making it one or two sizes smaller than your measurements suggest you ought to, as regardless of your gauge this yarn grooooooows.

3/17 I wish I had known earlier that this yarn stretches. The finished project is huge, so wide at the neck that to wear it without another shirt under it would be obscene. I’m so upset!

3/16 Done knitting! Seams and blocking and then I’m done!

3/15/13 - Almost done! About 20 more rows of stockinette to go, and then seaming and blocking. I can see some mistakes, especially around the bust darts, but I just don’t care. I can’t. Unless it looks awful after blocking, I can’t bring myself to rip out a third of the front and do all that stockinette all over again.

1/27/13 - Found a third skein of yarn!

1/23/13 - I am starting to fear that I will run out of yarn and also that the back is wider than it needs to be (which is why I will run out of yarn.) I am no good at testing my gauge.

1/12/13 - The weird hole was an accidental yarn over. I made a buttonhole in the back of the shirt. If I hadn’t thought it was a dropped stitch and tried to “fix” it, it would have stayed a tiny one-stitch-sized hole in the back of the shirt that no one would have noticed aside from me. However, it had turned into a giant hole. I begrudgingly ripped out all work to that point and have been re-knitting, and it’s almost as long as it was yesterday after just a few episodes of Mad Men. So, not such a big crisis after all.

Updated 1/10/13 - There is a weird hole that resembles a dropped stitch, but isn’t, in the middle of my project. When I tried to fix it the way I would fix a dropped stitch, it got worse. This is slowing me down.

First project of Selfish Knitting Month and my own self-declared Knit Adventurously 2013.

I have just realized that I will be in Stockinette Wasteland for awhile. The yarn is so beautiful that I don’t care, not yet at least. I keep stopping to admire the colors. This is meant to be a summer top, but if it’s big enough, I can see myself trying it over a long-sleeved shirt to wear on cool spring or warm winter days.
