This yarn was a birthday present, so I’m doing something quick for myself! Much more portable than my sweater, too.

Swatchy-swatchy! Having some practice with a new stitch seems like a good idea. And to see if it looks ok with the yarn. (Yes!) Though it comes out rather tight; maybe going up needle size to US11 / 7mm would be better?
Notes knitting linen stitch flat (instead of in the round) :
- CO an even number of stitches
- p instead of k
- slip sts wyib instead of wyif

The swatch looks good, so I’m starting! Following the pattern and CO 79sts using a stretchy CO which I can’t find the link to but is basically “pull a loop (on the bight) between two stitches, and put it on the needle.”

Gotten to the end of the first skein, and it’s about 5in / 12cm tall. Tried it on with my coat, and it doesn’t quite fill the open triangle, so I’ll add a few more rows.
It’s also really stiff, almost like a neck brace . Maybe I should have gone with larger needles?

ehhhh it’s itchier than I want for a cowl, and my partner expressed great interest in a hat with this yarn, so I’m just picking up with the crown decreases of the Amanda Hat.

This is much better as a hat! Could be three or four sts fewer around, but that meant frogging so I didn’t bother.
The skein ended with a six-inch tail after a round of the linen stitch, so I tied on the next one and started the ribbing before the crown decreases. Which also worked out perfectly with the 79sts! ^_^
Only issue so far is that, because it’s a little to big around, the wind comes up into the ears. But that’s fixable with some hot water and blocking. Yay!
