I hadn’t really been paying attention to how much finer the Socks Yeah really is… hmmm. Hope it’ll work out!
Anyway, the yarns I’m using within the pattern :
- A : DMC Gardenia (white) - need 251m.
- B : Socks Yeah! Jadeite (green) - need 183m.
- C : Lorna’s Laces Douglas Fir (dk blue) - need 169m.
- D : Socks Yeah! Chryso (lt blue) - need 238m.
Since the yarns are a slightly different weight from the pattern, we’ll see what happens with the actual lengths.

Seems to be going well so far! I made some pretty serious progress on it while commuting, and then during some recent travel. A couple stitches in the brioche section apparently have been done in knit instead of purl (or vice versa?) but they’re far enough back that I’m not going to fix it. They show less on the right side than the wrong, so it should be fine, right?
I also totally swapped B and C for the brioche. damn. It’ll come out more dark than expected, and I almost wish I’d done it with C and D instead now. Oh well. It looks ok.

I’m most of the way through the Sassy Slips, and realizing that yet again I’ve messed up which yarn I’ve used where. I’ve done more than two rows of D, and somehow ended up with too many stitches. >_<
Let’s see if I can rescue this by just making it longer/wider? Each chevron at the end takes about 14 stitches, so if I add that many more I’ll just add another chevron. I think I have enough yardage to make that work, though it’ll be a little tight with B and C. This is the last time I need C for the pattern, though, so I think I can get away with just working closer to the end of that skein. (It’s also the only one I can’t purchase more of.)
Arith-meter-ic :
- A : have 310m, pattern says 251m.
- B : have 212m, pattern says 183m.
- C : have 196m, pattern says 169m.
- D : have 424m, pattern says 238m.
Yarn weights are different from the pattern, but fingers crossed this will work out….

whew done with Sassy Slips. And I think I managed to make the number of stitches correct for my increase! I think did two extra repeats of the four rows of pattern. (I think I have a total of 34 rows instead of the pattern’s 26? They’re hard to count.) Still have a small ball of C, too.
I’ve finished the A interlude with a total of 383 stitches, which is 12 more than the pattern. So I only need to create an extra two more to have a full chevron.
Which is why I think I did more than an extra eight rows of Sassy Slips, but I didn’t print the pattern so I couldn’t write notes on it. damn.

oops I never got around to updating here! It’s done! There’s a whole other chevron that happened beautifully.
There are definitely some… less than ideal spots where I didn’t notice until several rows later, and didn’t go back to fix. ah well. Hopefully they’re not too visible.
It somehow seems smaller than I expected? But looking at the photo, and seeing it draped over a chair makes it look bigger. And there’s just enough of each yarn left over to be usable for another small project. ^_^
