This design is intentionally in pieces, rather than top-down and in the round, to facilitate the intarsia and embroidery. Relax and take the time to do the embroidery before assembling the front and back!
Use your swatch to practice the embroidery. You can figure out what works well on the swatch, pick out any bits you don’t like, etc.

Embroidery: I’m using adhesive backed water soluble stabilizer. It’s new for me and it’s great stuff! Sulky Stick ‘n Stitch. I printed some concentric circles and spokes onto the stabilizer, cut out the part I wanted and stuck it in place on my swatch. I was afraid it might move, so I belt-and-suspendered it with a few pins. For the sweater itself I basted it with high contrast sewing thread, because I kept sticking my fingers accidentally with the pins on the swatch. I’m not sure the basting was necessary, but I didn’t want to find out it would have been. Basting took 2 minutes. The stabilizer dissolved away in under a minute in warm water. Worked like a charm! The stabilizer looks more transparent in the photos than it does to my eye. Use your phone camera to judge positioning!

Don’t be too hesitant about the embroidery. I experimented on my swatch first, to build confidence. But also, I picked the embroidery out of the swatch to try additional ideas, and it looked fine after re-blocking the swatch. So, mistakes are reversible.
If uncertain about the embroidery motif, sketch or use ppt. I tried multiple layouts and color combinations in ppt.
