1 skein was exactly the right amount - I had around 3 inches left over after weaving in the ends!

Note - made a thinner version:
cast on 41 stitches, did the 3 stitch garter stitch border, K2, the 4 pattern repeats from * to * (8 stitches each), K1, and 3 stitch garter border again.
