I used a bunch of my stash yarn for this blanket. Like with the pink stash buster blanket, it was hard to pick yarn for this project because I have a bunch of small lengths I keep deluding myself into thinking I’ll make into scarves or hand warmers, when I know I don’t have the time. It’s faster for me to combine all those thinner yarns and make a big blanket using a large gauge crochet hook.

I used the 3-color Tunisian crochet method because it also is more forgiving when I combine yarns and the gauge of the combo changes depending on what yarns I combine. Also, it allows me to use shorter lengths of yarn to cover a larger square footage of the blanket, like the red eyelash yarn. If I’d just done Tunisian crochet back and forth, the bright red eyelash section would have only been a few rows long, whereas with the 3-color method, it’s stretched out over several inches of the blanket.

CO 66 stitches.

The blanket is very fuzzy because of the eye lash yarn--several varieties--and also the Patons Divine light blue mohair/acrylic yarn--I had enough of that for the entire blanket.

The yardage calculated above is deceptive because I used the yarn tripled (approximately), and did not include some fingering and sport weight yarns I had in my stash which were missing the wrapper. I’m guessing I used a total of 3500-4000 yards of various weight yarns. If the blanket were made using the yarn singly rather than tripled, it would have used about 1200-1300 yards.
