9-9-12 - going to mark finished as I’ve been wearing it since last fall. I do want to find another button because, while I like what I used, it’s just too heavy.
9.17.11 - well, life does interfere with crochet, but have completed, ends woven in and button on. Decided to do sleeve edging in non-turned rounds from the right side. Need to block and take photos, also weigh the rest of the last skein.
6.27.11 - finally got back to this project yesterday and did the sleeves. Since I added a row to back and fronts before joining, I’ve added a 2 dc on each side for total of 26 to begin rather than 24.
Worked the sleeves as written and like the length.
Going to alter sleeve edging and work in non-turned rounds. Have one sleeve done with sc all on right side and the other sleeve is with sc on wrong side. Maybe I should take a couple photos and see which I like best. (I think wrong side)
6.10.11 - have used 3 skeins at end of row 32, 15” long, going to start on sleeves now. Having the sleeves done should help me decide how long I want the body.
Thanks to Vashti Braha’s Crochet Pattern Companion of 5.13.11 that was well timed for me - http://crochetpatterncompanion.blogspot.com/ , I used Foundation Slip Stitch (fslst) instead of my usual Foundation Single Crochet (fsc) to replace both the beginning chain and the chains in the joining row.
I’ve also used the chainless double crochet to replace the ch3 (counts as first dc)
(all of the above stitches US terminology)
I added 1 more row before doing the joining row. I have large shoulders and arms (esp since gaining so much weight) and do not want tight sleeves.
first time using this yarn - it feels okay and works up nicely, tho need to take some care to avoid splitting.
