I was stash busting, and didn’t have enough yarn.
I chose to finish the bottom picot bind off early (I just joined from the outside of the ball and knit off that end), and then knit until I had just enough left for a picot bind off at the top.

So it’s not really a full cowl, more of a snuggly neck warmer.
