I love the Kensington Mitts pattern, but it’s not very wearable. (Since you need to wear short sleeves to show them off, but when do you combine short sleeves and handwarmers?)

This shorter version (started at the top of the pattern, then skipped to the wrist ribbing when I got to the 5YO section) is more of a regular mitt, and works better with long sleeves.

I also used a thicker yarn, it’s almost DK, and knit the small size. It’s a snugglier, more Minnesota-winter-friendly mitt.
