Notes

i “saved” $200 yesterday by not buying a pair of ON SALE fluevogs, so obviously i bought a bonkers beautiful vintage needlepoint handbag, two bottles of nail polish, cheap sunglasses, and a hank of stupidly beautiful sock yarn.

casbah was one of my first fave yarns, and i used to use it for lacy shawls, and there is a TON of it in my beekeeper blanket. i was just lamenting not having it on my feet at all times, and when i walked into the Purl yesterday, this skein just magically found its way into my hands. magic. kismet. true love.

the gusset charts are really challenging my spatial reasoning, keeping left and right in my brain while working in a circle is super hard for me. but it looks so pretty already!! i was pretty worried about colour pooling, but im pretty into these so far.

update june 20- i was past the heel turn, and took off my sock and shoe during class (second to last 8 hour session of strategic planning and resource development in social work administration), and it was TOO SMALL.

did i bother to check my gauge at all?? noooooo.

ripped back to the very beginning. i also didnt have scrap yarn or a crochet hook on me, so i just cast on normally and then picked up stitches along the CO edge when i would have unravelled the provisional CO. it looks shockingly good- barely a line.
