This is my first project with braids. I thought it would very difficult but as I started to knit I realized it was so easy!

In the pattern you knit the front and back separately and then sew it together, but I choose not to do that.

I started to cast on 63 stitches, on 5.5 mm needles, using the “Estonian cast on” and knit 3/3 rib for 10 cm. Then I increased one stitch and started the pattern. My way made that the braids is knitted down instead of up, but that doesn’t matter.

I knitted the front 50 cm instead of 40 cm. when it was time to knit the back I just increased 7 stitches and followed the pattern. This way I don’t have to sew the front and back together.

Finished the body today. Used Kitchener stitch to sew the top together. Since I knitted ribbed knitting, I could’nt use the usual Kitchner stitch, so I used this video instead:

I’m very pleased with the result this far. The next step is to find buttons for my sleep sack so i know how big the buttonholes need to be.

Bought buttons today, so now it’s time to start the edge around the sack.

Have’nt been knitting for a week, but I finished the sleep sack today. Only need to wash it and sew on my buttons.
