Notes

Used alternating cable cast on to match two by two ribbing. Not sure this cotton yarn was a good match for this pattern, but going to keep going and will see if a wash and a block will help. Love the pattern!

Correction to “Top Ribbing” instructions. Should switch to smaller needles after reducing to 122 stitches. Opted to use Jenny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind Off.

Used crochet reinforcement with cheap and rough acrylic yarn for steeking to get a grip on the slippery cotton yarn. Added comments to pictures to show my process. Also added a handstitched row of back stitches on either side of the steek for extra protection. I know this baby blanket is going to take some abuse!

Also, hand-stitched on a fleece backing. I ordered a light and inexpensive fleece baby blanket on Amazon. The width was right on and the length needed to be shortened on one end by just a few inches.

Finished everything with quilt style hand-ties at the center of all the flowers. I used the international (hidden) hand tie method: https://youtu.be/cEkHht2oJsg?si=-cfU5r8c7mgg3l3J.

Beautiful pattern, but the cotton yarn sure made it a tough project!
