I have a little helper holding up the blanket.

I really love the original version of this blanket, but bright colours, and multiple colours are requested - also the giraffe, vs. porcupine, owl, or sheep.

Giraffe - 17 stitches and 37 rows.

Cast on 130 stitches (will do border up the side after).
6 rows seed stitch
18 rows stripes, 40 giraffe, 20 stripes, 40 giraffe, 20 stripes, 40 giraffe, 18 rows stripes = 196 rows inside borders. Ended up way too short, so had to do a section with the clouds (another 30 rows plus the border), so 126 rows not including the bottom and top borders.
191 stitches on the side (picked up 3/4).

Note for next blanket: Seed stitch is wider than stockinette, so cast on 10% fewer for bottom border, then add when starting stockinette. Pick up 2/3 stitches on the side, as 3/4 is too loose.

My gauge is 22-23 stitches and 34 rows to 4 inches on 4.5 mm needle.

Blanket pattern: 147 stitches x 192 rows = 28 x 30.
Recipe from blanket: border, 32 rows, 26 porcupine, 30 rows, 26 porcupine, 28 rows, 26 porcupine, 24 rows then top border.
