Notes

I had an absolute hoot of a time making it. It’s a beanie-scart+mitts, done mostly in feathers yarn, using entarsia techiniques to make spots. The base is blue/teal purple, with lime green/teal/lemon yellow spots.

Scarf ends hang from around ear level and end in fingerless mitts. The mitts have 3D claws which shade from sickly yellow to white at the tips and are highlighted by crystals in red, like blood drops.

The head section has “teeth”, which are also shaded from yellow to white and crystalled with “blood drops” around the forehead. The eye sections are padded, done in entarsia crochet and have blue, vertically-slitted dolls eyes. Oh, and wicked, slanting eyelids in plain, purple yarn.

A padded nose section and black, synthetic, koala-type nose sits between the eyes while huge, entarsia-spotted, wired “ears” complete the “drop bear” look.

This is a specimen of the “Greater Aquatic Drop Bear”- a ferocious mutation of the Australian uber-predator. This variety is known for taking surfers and great white sharks…
