5.29 - Modified so that the cables continued almost all the way to the top, and using a different thumb gusset. Finally finished, after one entirely false start and way too many stupid gaffes. These are the manliest things I have ever made and while I’m not perfectly satisfied with them, my boyfriend seems to like them, or is at least smart enough to fake it.

5.27 - Aggh. Have to stop watching intense movies while knitting these; am so close to being done and just realized I forgot a cable about 15 rows back. Recipient doesn’t mind but I do - stupid OCD.

5.26 - Finished the first hand-warmer two days ago to realize that I didn’t like the way the cables looked, so I made a second “left” glove - this one with cables going all the way to the top, and a different thumb gusset that fortunately manages not to disrupt the cable pattern. The first hand-warmer has been frogged and will be re-knit as soon as I can decipher all the cryptic notes I left myself about the modifications.

5.21 - Cast on and knit about 75% of the first handwarmer last night while watching Letters from Iwo Jima - it’s hard to knit and read subtitles at the same time, but I don’t think there are any major mistakes (yet). Cables look a bit weird but straighten out when he tries them on.
