Joined in the round last night. Thinking for a minute before continuing… I am considering changing the faux seam from the text pattern to 1) nothing - just straight stockinette for totally mindless knitting of black yarn in the dark OR 2) p1, k2, p1 for a more subtle appearance. Also considering a picot hem or a split hem, depending on how it’s fitting when I get there. I think a simpler side seam will more cleanly incorporate either option.

I have 7.5” of body knit, opted to exclude the faux side seam. I will use a double knit hem. Not sure but probably will drop down to 3mm to match the arms and neck bands.
When I run out of yarn in the first ball, I will do the neck and arm bands, then decide a) how long I want to make it and b) whether or not I would like a split hem - based on how much ease I end up with. Since my gauge always changes….

Still on the first ball of yarn and I have 10” of body. So I’m stopping here and doing the neckband. I don’t have 3mm needles so I’m trying 2.75 mm

For hem: Did KFB for each stitch then knit 1.5” double knit hem. Literally took 4 hours to do the sewn bind off
Next time, decrease a few stitches and use a smaller needle for the inside (s1yib, p1 row, not k1, sl1yif row)

Pre lock-
16” across bust
19” across hem
22 “ length
13” underarm to hem
9” armhole depth

SADLY The hem didn’t work. It looked wavy and lame. It was actually 6” too wide. So braced myself and cut off the 4 hours of sewn bind off and 6 hours of double knit hem and instead of adding stitches to the hem (KFB for every stitch) I am simply making the existing stitches into a double knit hem, so i will have half the stitches as before. It will cinch in like ribbing, but not be ribbing. I just don’t think ribbing looks as sleek and I want this to be an elegant cami type top. I hope this works…..
