Hold HiKoo yarn triple
April 3, 2026
Added two strands of cobweb weight color mart cashmere from 2 flops I have in stash. One is great, the other WILL NOT stop tangling as I pull from the center. I hope this remedies itself before I finish swatches and get to the actual project.
Currently blocking swatch 1 of 3. Hoping this blooms and grows or I’ll need a strand of mohair too and holding 5 strands already. 6 seems a bit much lol

My set up is crazy looking. A large basket with three bowls, holding the lace merino, and a smaller basket holding the two cones of cobweb cashmere and a ball of mohair. Six strands is a lot to manage.

I’m working on the right front and realized I don’t like how the neckline shaping results in stockinette stitches that abruptly change to double honeycomb. So I’m going to turn those increase stitches into a stockinette strip, 2 purl relief stitches, then double honeycomb after the neckline cast on stitches are made.

Just picked up the sleeve stitches and finished the set up row.

I’m a little disappointed in this pattern. I’ve put in so many hours and am not tearing it back or dropping the stitches down, BUT the sleeve increase DH sections are not symmetrical. They are mirrored so the front of one sleeve matches the back of the other and vice versa. Also, the lifted increase that’s used in the pattern doesn’t look great on the slip stitch border. In hindsight, I would’ve just done a normal make one. I mentioned before that I changed the front panels because I didn’t like the way the double honeycomb stitch started abruptly. I think I expected more because my understanding of the amount of detail that Zanette puts into her patterns. The reason I buy a pattern is because I assume that the designer will take care of these details so I don’t have to do math, and I can just KNIT. I am one row away from splitting for sleeves and looking back at the increases just makes me kind of sad. So if you care about that kind of thing, make sure you look out for it and make those changes before you knit the pattern. I’m not tearing it back because I will ever reknit this with six strands of yarn, and I think tearing it out will be an absolute nightmare. I imagine very few people will ever notice this but me so I’m just gonna press on because I want this one, but I really do feel disappointed.

Split for sleeves and have knit about an inch of the body. A loooong way to go
June 13, 2026
I think I finished the body last week and did a mid project block to confirm. I’m going to wait on the ribbing just in case I want to do one more pattern repeat, but I want this cropped to wear over dresses so I think I’m good. I picked up stitches for one sleeve and began working on it, but haven’t been able to pick this up again for the last week. I made it to the point of starting sleeve decreases, but I am skipping them for now… I think I want the sleeves more blouse or balloon-like, so I’m going to knit straight for now and plan for a rapid decrease.
Mods include:
- Stockinette strips on the front instead of wonky DH start
- Super cropped to wear over fancy dresses
- No slipped stitch faux seam on body or sleeves
- Balloon/ blouse sleeve instead of tapered

I’m about half way finished with one sleeve. My life is too hectic right now to work on this so i fear it’s going to hibernate for a while. Maybe I can pick it back up after we move

Knit 11 DH for first sleeve, no decreases, then switch to US 3 12” lykke for K1, k2 tog around, with k3tog and sssk marked with lightbulb markers to maintain established purls in 2x2 ribbing over 44 sts

Started the sleeve ribbing and thought, maybe this should be an I-cord.
Hmmmm. Would I do an icord for the hem? I’m sure the collar and band will be DK…

make button band like this… https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/beatrix-cardigan
keep ribbed cuffs and hem
August 19, 2026
Decided to make double knit hem (knit in the round) and will most likely go back and redo cuffs for uniformity. Used 3mm on inside and 3.25 mm on outside.
Going to block before I bind off. Might want to tear back a couple rows. I knit to 1.75” and that may be longer than I want for a cropped jacket
