This pattern is taken from the 1981 edition, as per the photograph above.

Decided to use a different yarn for this one. Ball band suggests 6.00mm needles, but I thought I would try 5mm.

Cast on, completed ribbing and first two rows and realised I had been using totally wrong size needles. Frogged it all and started again on size 5mm needles.

Pattern will be totally lost by the beautiful colours of the yarn.

Yarn is soft but a rotter to knit with because it’s not wound tightly and sometimes splits. I will persevere as the yarn is so soft to the touch :)

The third photo is a little dull and not showing the true colours. The cable needle shows how much knitting is done with one ball of yarn.

Cast on front. Rib completed.

Front finished. Whilst knitting front, I got carried away with knitting and ended up with longer front for cast off/shaping. It looks like my shoulder seams will sit on the back of my shoulders instead. I won’t tell anyone if you don’t

Used three quarters of ball #6 and shall use remainder for neck.

Casting on both sleeves so using two fresh balls (7 & 8) - one for each sleeve.

Ball #7 #8 finished. A distinct lack of light pink in one of the balls, making one sleeve much darker than the other (see photo of finished sleeve - when added). Very disappointing

Ball #9 split between both sleeves.

The pic of jumper on footstool is definitely not the correct colour. Also the shoulder seams look a bit weird, that is because of the way I held it to lay it down. I roll neck is not quite finished but as soon as it is, I shall take a selfie of me wearing it, assuming it looks OK.
