Quick knit. I especially like that it was almost exactly one skein of 220 superwash. I had 3 grams left. It has lots of positive ease so I think it can actually fit another 18 month old I know. I’ll likely knit another one for her. I don’t love a yarn over button hole, but I like that this entire project required just two yarn ends to weave in: the one at cast on and one at the end.
I’m happy with the final product but not so much with the pattern. It was easy enough for me but I’ve been knitting a while. I’m helping a beginner through this pattern and this was not an easy pattern for her. The row counts are misleading, particularly for a beginner. Row 33 isn’t really row 33 because there was a sentence of “continue for 5 rows of stockinette” before it. Instead of labeling it as Row 33, a “Next Row” or a heading of “Next section” and restarting the numbering process to “Row 1” would be helpful. Also, the “Rows 18-27: Repeat rows 8-17” is confusing for a beginner. The writer takes such care to keep track of the rows, and then has misleading row counts when starting the cap sleeves.
Decided to gift this to Ziggy instead, since her mom’s been trying to knit up this pattern since before Ziggy was born. Ziggy is 20 months, but she is still fitting into 12mo clothes.

Knitting this so I can understand the pattern and help walk Liz through it. Knitting 12mo size for Bella.

Finished knitting last night. Needs to be blocked with buttons sewn on. Used almost all of one skein of the 220 superwash. Will probably use my second skein to knit another one.
My gauge was more like 21 stitches to 4 inches.
