I love that this looks identical on both sides. The Foxtrot colorway is a heather purple which contributes nicely to the ombre effect.

I stuck with garter stitch throughout since I worried about it curling along the top edge. As such, I stuck with the same size needles throughout. No other modifications. I started with the purple, held double and knit until I had just 17 grams left. Then I started with one strand of silver and one strand of purple until I ran out of the purple. Then finished with the silver, again, held double.

Blocked to final dimensions of 62 inches by 14 inches. It makes for a nice little kerchief. This is intended for Ellie, along with the little purple soapstone elephant from the San Diego zoo.

Notes for me:

• 10/11 Garter stitch instead of stockinette.

• 10/17 Been feeling incredibly uninspired with knitting lately. I’m halfway through this project and I suddenly want to stop knitting it. I may modify with some short rows to build more length rather than depth.
