Men’s shoe size 10.

According to “Custom Socks: Knit to Fit Your Feet” by Kate Atherley, recommended dimensions are:
Foot 10-1/4” (26 cm) round, 10-3/4” (27.5 cm) length

Sock 9-1/4” (23.5 cm) round, 10” (25.5 cm) length

Estimated yardage 475 yds needed.
May need to use yarn from the skein for shawl.

Calf length is 7”/8”/9” (18/20.5/23 cm), so following pattern’s 7-1/2” leg length.

Pattern’s size L is not big enough for men’s size 10 shoes.

Modified to CO 72 sts. Knitting with 3 DPNs, so BOR at back of heel. 2nd needle is just the 17 sts for pattern to hide any ladders.

Heel 32 sts as per pattern but only 25 rows.
Gusset PU 15 sts (13 + 2 extra to prevent holes at gusset).

Knit foot to 8”. Pattern ended at row 10 (oh, shucks).
Rearranged needles to 16 sts, 41 sts, 16 sts.

Toe setup round to decrease 4 sts each time: K1, ssk, K to 1st pattern cable, ssk, K to 2nd pattern cable, k2tog, K to last 3 sts, k2tog, K1. Did this twice.
Plus last round to dec 1 st as per pattern.
End up with 64 sts total.

Toe shaping as per pattern.

1 skein yarn was just enough!
