Reinterpreting using 2 Noro yarns.

Swatched guage on US3 needles = 7.5 sts x 8 rows = 1”

With MC and US2 needles, cast on 144 sts. Ribbing 1x1 for 3/4”.

Change to US3 needles, inc 18 sts evenly: 162 sts.

2-hand colour work per Bohus Blue Shimmer chart in Poems of Color but modified for 2-tone only. Rows 1-49, skipped to row 64-68. Finishing with MC. 7 inches. 7-point crown shaping.

Finished knit dimensions 23” around x 10” (Pic #2)

Hot water soak for a tighter/denser effect, no agitation.
Low dryer for at least 30 min.
After dryer dimensions 22” around x 9” (Pic #1)

Not happy with the 7-star shaping. Hat is too “tall” for my preference. In future, would change to shorter crown and start dec at 6.5”. Start every row dec sooner as well. Also, I would knit at an even tighter gauge.

But overall, I’m very pleased with the overall effect with the Noro. Not bad for a first try!
