Notes

I designed this mini-stocking pattern for a “learn to knit socks” class. The pattern guides a beginning sock knitter through all of the steps of knitting a basic sock from the cuff down with a heel flap. The use of worsted weight wool makes the project much faster than beginning with a full size sock in fine gauge sock yarn.

The mini-stocking can be used as a gift card holder, or as a decorative ornament.

My test knitter chose baby nursery colors, and presented her mini-stocking as a gift card holder at a baby shower.

If you have questions about changing colors at the heel or toes, this pattern includes that information.
