Followed the pattern exactly, save for the button bands and collar. Rather than knitting separately and then sewing together, I picked up 111 sts (3 sts every 4 rows) and worked in seed stitch until desired length. Looking at the button bands now, I think I could have picked up 101 sts and been fine. I changed the hemmed collar to a plain ribbed collar of just over an inch. Fits my 2 1/2 year old nephew perfectly now, and will probably last him until he turns 3 in the fall.
