I cannot put the colors or brands of the yarn I’ve used as most of it comes from Goodwill (6-8 skeins for $5, oh yeah :P).

So for this project I used the sunflower variation of the Croco-Dahlia for my water lilies. That variation can be found here:

I only made the pattern through the first round of “background” and then sc around that to finish it off.

For the octagons I used the Red Heart “In Love With Color Throw” octagon motif. However, I added two “granny” rows and a row of sc in every dc and space to the octagon motif to make it fit the flowers.

I did a sc through the back loops only to piece it all together.

For the boarder I did a row of sc in the same color I pieced everything together, sc in each stitch with three sc in each corner stitch and a sc dec in each “valley”. I repeated this row in pink and repeated it one more time in my variegated yarn. For the final row I did a bubble stitch from the croco-dahlia pattern in every other sc making sure there was a bubble in each corner and skipping two sc in each valley instead of just one.
