I had to use less stitches then the pattern called for as it was way too big for my grandson and was actually on the big side when I tried it on me. I used about 70 - 72 stitches for the crown and the same yarn all the way through for each one I made. The only mustache I liked out of all of them was the one with the long sides and I learned quickly I had to do both sides at the same time or it came out cockeyed for some reason.
