Please excuse my porg infestation.

I started this sweater last week as a baby present for my boyfriend’s cousin who is pregnant.

I’m a little concerned that the yarn might be too crunchy/scratchy? However, Elizabeth Zimmerman once said, “If you start a child off with synthetics, you will have no one to thank by yourself if it has to pass its days in cheerless plastic-yarn sweaters, cut off from the warmth and comfort of wool.”

Whenever I make baby sweaters, I always try to make them in a unique color that baby clothes don’t normally come in. I’m certain that my giftee would want something blue for a boy, and I toyed with the idea of making a gray sweater, but I ultimately decided on this blue that I had in my stash. It’s very pretty and vibrant when it’s in the sun, with a slight, secret flash of purple.
