I started with Beth Webber’s Tiny Bead/Dowel/Crochet Doll Rompers. I got to row 7 and realized that they were going to be too wide for Althea and probably not her style. So I took off on my own from there.

Instead of joining, I overlapped four stitches and crocheted them together with the next round forming a placket. It might have been better to do one more row before joining thus making a longer placket.

8: Dc in each dc across, join, ch2, do not turn. 28dc
9: Dc in each dc across, join, ch2, do not turn. 28dc
10: Dc in each dc across, join, ch1, do not turn. 28dc
11: Change to rose and hdc in each dc across, join, ch1, do not turn. 28hdc
12: Change to mc and sc in each hdc across, increasing twice in the back, join. 30sc

Do pleats as in Cattaddict’s Chat en Madrid project. I did three rounds of pleats followed by her round 6, the finishing round. I think that I may have missed this round on the last pleat project that I did.

For the sleeves I did two rounds of sc in rose. I didn’t crochet into the side of the stitch like Beth recommends, but did two decreases at the beginning and end of the chain 4. I also did a decrease at the top of the sleeve. I didn’t count my stitches and I think I must have missed a stitch on one of the arms, because one is smaller. Oops! I’m not redoing it.

Now I think she needs a brown underskirt since her leg fabric is showing a bit.
