Wow! That was fast. I started this doll about 8:30 last night and finished her at 11:00 AM or so this morning. I was hoping to have her done to take to Bea for her birthday party, but we weren’t able to go. Hopefully I can see her tomorrow instead. That will give me time to sew the dress.
I think working with a deadline allowed me to make quick decisions that I normally would waffle over. She’s not perfect, but very personable I think. She looks young and cheerful. I hope the dress works out well. I have some blue cotton picked out, but I would like something a little fancier. I’ll go upstairs and see if anything calls to me. If not, I’ll use this fabric. I’m thinking Ann’s dress pattern, cut about 0.5” to 1” wider will work.
We wound up missing the party, but that gave me time to finish up a dress. I used the dress that comes with Ann Wood’s Tiny Rag Doll pattern widened by an inch and also lengthened by an inch.

I did quite a bit of the sewing for this dress on the machine, since I was in a time crunch. I made a freezer paper template of the seams in photo 52 of the pattern and sewed those first, leaving the back seam unsewn until later. Then I sewed the hem on the machine. Then trimmed it with lace also sewn on by machine. I sewed the back seam by machine and went back and did the other steps by hand like in the pattern.
