Notes

I was SO excited and waited just like everyone else for this pattern release! ERRATA at end.

M1 = lifted increases for no holes

Cuff: k1tbl, p1 (twisted rib) 7 rounds = 3/4”

Leg: 4 even increases: k9, (M1, k19)3 times, M1, k10
: *** I worked out the issue with that first stitch on sl3wyif on round 7!!! Just slip that first stitch wyib and carry on…will need to work over the SM but not an issue. After doing this on round 7 the rest is as written on the chart. EASY PEASEY!
: 8 charts repeats = 6” (with cuff)
: 4 even decreases: k4, (k2tog, k8)3 times, k2tog, k4

Heel Flap: 32 rows = 2.5”
Heel TURN: size 76 ends with UNEVEN 21sts

Gusset: picked up 16sts rather than 18 due to less rows needed for 2.5”
: 40 sts front, 37 sts back (should be 36)
: end decreases round 5 on chart

Foot: 4 chart repeats + 7 rounds = 7”
: I was going to do the suggested directions to reduce puckering but chose to really tighten my tension on the bottom, which worked out perfectly and less ‘fiddley’.
: last round decreases: k4, (k2tog, k8)3times, k2tog, k4 AND bottom k18, k2tog, k17 (to make it the 36sts even with the front)

Toe: I chose to decrease to 28sts.

ERRATA:
page 1: M1 missing from abbreviations
page 4: last sentence before gusset, “…end on a PURL row…” should be KNIT row.

: as mentioned above, for size 76, the math does not work out to 36sts for the bottom (see above for what I did to make this work quickly)

Personal Preference Suggestions:
It would not have been that difficult to include the increasing/decreasing for each size to be included. Would only have taken a couple other lines….or at least give a couple suggestions for free online stitch calculators. Time saver.

page 4 gusset decreases: Row 2: ‘work even’ does not really work since there is a specific stitch pattern to follow on front. Would be better worded as in Row 1: “Work across front of sock to marker in Mermaid Stitch Pattern as set, then work even with no decreases.”

However, there are A LOT of really nice things going on with this pattern also! The photo tutorial of special stitches is very nice, suggestions for an ombre fade included, the overall layout, and special stitches/abbreviations/chart all on one page at the beginning! I hope if Summer sees this review she will take it in with the love it is intended! It’s tough being a new-ish designer and we all learn everyday to improve our skill sets in life!!!
