This pattern is WONDERFUL!!!
Such a meditative make and a really cool (and easily customizable) construction :) :)
The Cumulus yarn is officially one of my favorite yarns I’ve ever worked with. I’m excited that the garment is finished and I get to wear it, but between enjoying the pattern so much and the BUTTERY SOFT and easy to work with yarn, I’m quit sad it’s finished.
My Mods:
I knew I wouldn’t be following the pattern exactly because I’m not a big fan of sweaters that have high necklines (they are objectively beautiful! Just not my jam). However, talking to the designer, I knew this was something I could easily modify.
To ensure a deeper and wider neckline, I extended rectangle 1 by 4 rows on each side. This made the lowest point of the neckline wider. To create the “low” point of the sweater, when joining the panels, I made 21 FSC instead of 11, which lowered the neckline. Finally, I left the raw edge of the sweater instead of adding ribbing to the neckline.
For my sleeves, I ended up seaming to a level I felt comfortable which left me with sleeves that had 58 sts. I didn’t do any shaping and stopped when the sleeves were past my wrists.
I also played with the colors and did my changes differently to accomodate my yarn choices.
My sweater is approximately 30.5” long and fits me “tunic style”. I seamed the sweater so that the bottom seams hits at my natural waist and the sweater is split to give my hips lots of room.
I absolutely LOVE how this sweater turned out!!!!
