Notes

After I made the giant houndstooth, several people made comments about it being “houndstooth inception” and how I should make it a whole series! What a cool idea!!!

With acrylic yarn, and 8 epi, you could only really get 25 profile squares across (100 threads). Might try something a tad bit smaller like Brown sheep wool or even single ply handspun yarn. Then I could end up with more design than 25 blocks. It’s going to be a very big design so even double that would be better than just one round. Other ideas would be a simplified design like just stripes or birds eye.

I want to experiment with Brown Sheep Co sport or fingering yarn. Can’t decide between zigzag or M&W weave. Maybe mix colors? 1 solid and 1 mixed? Still thinking!

Fingering 16-18 epi
Sport 10-12 epi

I decided to start with acryllic yarn to get an idea what this looks like.
3 yard warp
8 epi (16 doubled for doubleweave)
10” across
80 ends on warp board (160 doubled and it’s L+D)
Charlie Brown colors with a Charlie Brown stripe!

1 threading error in my sample smiling_face_with_tear so I’ll have to unweave it and fix it tomorrow.

Fixed the threading error by removing 8 threads. Still weaving 8.5” across.

Washed up to be very pliable cloth! I thought it would be too thick and hard being made from acrylic and 2 layers!

I want to try doubling everything on this project! I am going to aim at doing 3 zigzags across, and they’ll be really big! Acrylic yarn, same yarn as the last scarf.

6 squares in the profile draft, 4 threads each square = 24 threads and then double that to be 48 per zigzag and 48÷ 16 epi = 3” each zigzag

Warp board 3 groups of 12 L/ D ends + 1 group of 2x around
