With this profile draft, this can be woven on 16 shafts.
This needs a layer of white and then stripes of red, yellow, and blue.

I used fiberworks to create the profile draft and then I used block substitution (under tools) to turn it into a 16 shaft draft. Then I used liftplan mode (in tie-up) to convert it into a table loom drawdown. Then I typed out the drawdown in excel but I’ll have to repeat the first 4 lines 3x and then repeat the sections like this:
#1 (x3)
#2 (x3)
#1 (x3)
#3 (x3)
#4 (x3)
#3 (x3)
See the profile draft with labels for clarification!

Bluegrass Mills 6/2 cotton
EPI 15 for 1 layer, 30 for 2 layers
Each square is 36 threads across, so 18L, 18D
Each square will weave to be about 1.2”
Warp for 4 squares to practice
3 yard warp

Edited: I tried this design and the colors were all wrong so I flipped the dark and light in the weft and now it works perfectly!!!! It looks just like the original!!!! Yay!!!

Try warping all the colors and creating a rainbow. So 5 colors for a few rounds and then drop one and add one. It’s white weft and black as the main color.

“Lock thread” by catching color thread under white thread on left for repeat #1,2 and right on #3,4

For final project, make the squares in the middle and little bit bigger than outside square.

Maybe open set just a tiny bit more. Like 14 epi on reed 8? Skip one dent?

**Changed to 12 EPI (24 epi doubled)

Maybe try rainbow?

24 ends each block X 10 colors = 240 threads ÷ 12 epi = 20” across

12 epi Sample before washing:
5.5”x19”

After washing:
5”x17”

10%-12% shrinkage

Going to make dishtowels! 10 blocks total. 4 red, 3 yellow, 3 blue

120 ends on the warp board
12 ends x 4 groups red
12 ends x 3 groups yellow
12 ends x 3 groups blue

120 ends x 2 = 240 ÷ 12 = 20” x .88 = 17.6” towels across

Each block will have 3 repeats on the sides and 6 in the middle.

4 yard warp

I started weaving my towel warp today! Also got my blanket in the mail! It looks just like my towels, but slightly different colors! I love this pattern so much!!! heart_eyes The blanket came from England and was 50% off!!

Before washing 3 yards x 18.75”

01-19-2025

Washed 2 yards 20” x 16.5”

01-20-2025

Finished the towels!! 4 towels 16.25” x 21.5”
