I LOVE Bertha Gray Hayes’ trellis pattern, so much that I’ve made it several times! I’ve even experimented with making it summer and winter weave (Nov/Dec 2011), and have modified the pattern to be different for that weave. The only thing I didn’t like about summer and winter was the huge patches of plain weave, like big BORING blocks of it. I just love this pattern so much, but now it’s time to do it as doubleweave, mixed with a gradient warp to make those bigger patches of weave more interesting!

2x around on warp board then drop a color and add a color. Do 3 rotations and then tie off so 4 groups total.
4 repeats of design = 16” but 14” after shrinkage
12 epi (24 doubled)
For the white layer, it’s really going to be a color and weave in very subtle colors, white and light gray. Thread for DL repeating, and the weft will be DLLL.
384 threads total (4 pattern repeats)

Threaded 1 A section as D by accident so I had to pull out 16 threads and make temporary heddles to hold them.
Back to weaving now that it’s fixed!!!
