4 yard warp
4 groups of 15 on warp board = 120
Sett is 10 epi
Weaving up to be about 11” width
I’m going to wash it to shrink it and then I’m going to iron on a thin stabilizer and then cut it to square. I’m going to serge the raw edges and then sew it into a quilt with sashing in-between the squares. I’m hoping this will make a bigger blanket than just woven in doubleweave, yet still remain strong. The first one will be an experiment, but if it works I think it will make a great gift for my neighbor and MIL.
My first warp for this project is MW threading with black warp and retro stripes acryllic yarn. I might experiment with several types of threadings like some zigzag twill would also be fun!
I made a quilt for by son years ago using 8 shaft pinwheels from 8/4 rug cotton for the center but this is my first acrylic yarn center. I’m also going to try the quilt as you go method.

Started project again with 8 yard warp! I hope to get 18 squares at least. I might do my next one different so I can mix and match. Like zigzags in 4 shaft would be so pretty!

Finished weaving the 8 yard warp and cut it into squares. I ended up with 23 squares, perfect for a 4x5 quilt!! I think that will be a nice throw size!!

Finished quilting the big quilt today! It really helped to pin the whole thing and then use more pins for each line I was working on. It really made the backing stay in place better! I only quilted a few lines because if I tried to get too many, it didn’t look good and I ended up picking out some stitches. So less is really better!
