8/1/2020: Measured Quinn’s head. Amazed that it is 23”, which is an extra large. She has a substantial quantity of brains! I bought an extra skein of yarn in case I need it.

2/17/21: Cast on for size XL, getting the number of stitches right after two tries. Yarn is beautiful!

Finished hat! I used smallish circular needles, so did not need to switch to DPNs until the last few rounds. Quinn says the brim is a little loose, but I think it will be better if the entire brim is folded up, not just half the brim.

Doesn’t seem to be in need of blocking. Beautiful yarn and stockinette has even stitches.

Quinn thinks the brim is a little loose, so I’m going to follow the instructions in this video for tightening it a bit with clear elastic thread.

Also, stockinette after the brim measures 8.5” instead of 10”--Quinn did not want it quite as slouchy as the pattern specified.
