Notes

It took me awhile to get used to the built-in i-cord aspect of the pattern. I must have begun to cast on and ripped out 20 times because I thought I was doing it wrong. The Cardiff Cashmere yarn was quite splitty and I had to be careful of not leaving any yarn hanging. This scarf has a few wonky places (I won’t call them “mistakes”--but … ) It is difficult to tink back or rip out and get back on the right track.

Pebblebee’s hints that she wrote for her Sophie Scarf in Dark Pink were so useful. On the 8th row, before turning, I added a removable marker to knob at the top of one of the slipped stitches. I also used a stitch counter. I tried very, very hard not to do anything I had to tink or rip out because that is when you get into trouble. Also, it made the yarn more splitty.

It is also helpful to give the working yarn a bit of a tug and the beginning of each row to keep the i-cord stitches firm and even.

I am making another one now, with Malabrigo Silky Merino, and it is much easier to work with.
