Notes

23/12/13, 09h30 : as Christmas and its lot of anxieties is coming I need something quick and dirty to soothe my fears and bring me luck (it will bring me luck because I will complete it. Don’t ask, I’ve got loads of these weird but unshakable bouts of magic thinking). I won’t even make a gauge swatch, the back will be the gauge swatch, and I’ll use dirt-cheap acrylic. It will have traditional spider pattern just because. I did a drawing of what I’d like but it may not look like that when finished because anything can happen…

10h55 : Have done the back till the armpit (I know, I’m a slow crocheter); now will increase for the underarm.

11h55: after a little internet break I increased 4cm on each side. Now I must begin the fronts and get to the same point so that I can join under the arms.

13h00 : had lunch and made one front.

14h55 : TV news break and made the second half-front. Now I can join under the arms.

16h05 : joined under the arms and finished the spider motif in the back.

17h51 : started short rows for the sleeve but I think I’m going to stop for today.

24/12/13, 3h30 : went to sleep, couldn’t due to anxiety, so finished first sleeve’s short rows. I now have a respectable cap sleeve.

26/12/13, 18h00 : was too depressed and anxious to go on but I’m starting to get over it now. I have started the length of the sleeve.

28/12/13 : made the sleeve’s decreases : 8 rows of two decreases, one at the beginning and one at the end of the round, alternating with regular rows. Now I’m thinking about the way I want my ruffle to be. I want something very “marquise” :) and I’m not exactly sure how to get it.

29/12/13 : attempting my marquise ruffle. I made increases on a round at the elbow. Will make another one, maybe a third increase round. Then will start to work in rows with a decrease by one square at the begining and the end of each row till my ruffle is splendid enough :)

18h30 : I decided for two rounds of increases.

31/12/13 00h45 : made my marquise sleeve. After two rounds of increases I made seven rounds as is, then I started working in rows, decreasing two squares at the begining and the end of the row.

13h00 : decided of an edging. But I still don’t know if I’ll make a pointy back like in the original drawing.

01/01/14 : finished (well, I still have to weave in the ends) at 1am. It was my way of partying. You should have seen the look from the partying passersbys when I modeled my shrug full of ends in the street…
