I used the three needle bind off to join the outer circle together before attaching it to the medallion. I did not turn under 1 inch of the shorter edge of the outer circle before attaching it to the medallion. I left it in place and seemed it together with the medallion using the single crochet seam (page 166 Lily Chin’s Knitting tips & tricks). This made a nice decorative chain on top on the right side. I thought it fit in nicely with everything else. On the arm holes, I ended up turning under the first two rows of slipped stitch for most of the arm hole and tapered it at the ends of the opening. Without the edge turned under, it made the arm hole opening too small in front.
