Yarn from a giveaway: Loops and Threads Meandering Serpentine 222m/100g colour Peachy Keen 815 Lot 201812. made in China. 90% acrylic 10% nylon. gauge on 4.5mm: 20s and 24r. Machine wash cold. Do not bleach. Tumble dry low, gentle cycle. Do not iron.

53g of yarn.

After 4 increase rows, I worked 1 round, then the increase round, then 1 round, and another increase round (to 40 sts around). K 3 rows. Inc again on the back only (42 sts).

Upper hand = 42 rows.

I modified the thumb gusset, as my first pair was too tight there. For thumb opening, m2 on the lower thumb stitches. In the next row, m2 again. Knit 4 more rows, then in the next row, dec 2 sts within the thumb gusset. Work 6 rows even. Dec 2 sts within the thumb gusset. Work 5 rows. (19 rows knit in lower hand.)

Cuff: Decrease around 10 sts (k1, work 2, dec 1) on 3.5mm needles for k2p2 ribbing. Work 16 rows of ribbing. Cast off with Jeny’s stretchy cast off.

Thumb: pick up 16 sts plus extras in corners and decreased to 16 sts to work thumb. Work to tip of thumb (21 rows). Decrease: k2tog around; next row: k2tog around. Pull yarn through 4 sts around.

In future, I would add some extra stitches to the base of the thumb, which is too tight (since the thumb is created with waste yarn).
