IN search for a light, everyday sweater pattern, I figured I might as well try to adapt Isabell Kraemer’s Elah. I love my green Elah to bits and wonder whether I could just not knit the lace pattern. So far, just ignoring the instructions and knitting the lace bit as plain stockinette is working well.
I also want to turn this into a v-neck-having, somewhat cropped sweater, so will have to figure out a way to marry the front ribbing together at some point. Possibly with a 3-needle-operation. We’ll see. ETA: 3NBO worked like a charm, I added one stitch from the body to the bind off and knit the outermost 2 icord stitches together in the process. On the row of the bindoff you can ignore the ribbing and just work stockinette on one half of the edge to keep the bind off flatter when joining edges.
4mm needles yield a fairly loose fabric with the Frankenwolle. It feels nice, I hope it will hold up later on.

added short rows in the back (after 29 rows I think, 7 short rows total).

puk 84 stitches per sleeve then ultimately reduced that down to 62 stitches over 50cm length (so roughly -2sts/16 rows)

bit off lengthwise shrinkage, I’ m glad I worked the armhole to 20cm per side (50rows) and 40cm for the body before ribbing (20rows), because I probably lost 5cm in body and arms.
Fabric feels amazingly light and soft.
Bit of excess dye in the wash, but the color didn’t lose any of its intensity. It’s still a cool shade of grey.

added another 5cm of ribbing to the body to account for some shrinkage in length. (42 rows of ribbing total)
