knitting this on Addi Novel 3.5; which is closer to a 3.25 I think.
Quite addictive knit so far even though the crochet hook stuff is a bit awkward at first. I feel like I’m rushing until I can finally do the flowers :D
As usual, Natasja Hornby gently eases you into the various segments, this shawl allows you to get comfortable with the new stitches / rhythm before introducing a new section. Loving the breather sections in between that allow for TV knitting, too.

First things first: I ran out of yarn (had 9 25g balls, chickened out after I realized that each flower head section would eat one ball of yarn and ended up using 7.5 total to be safe). I cut the flower section short and jumped straight from Chart 1 row 19 to round 8 of Chart 3. With minor fudging at the edge to dissolve the ridge you form between the petals, this worked extremely well. So if you happen to see your yarn run out - no worries, this pattern is adaptable!
I found the flower heads very interesting to knit but I probably would have run out of steam knitting all of them in the end, so having only two flower head sections worked for me, especially since binding off took ages and was fairly fiddly as well.
Dimension-wise, I acually wouldn’t be happier with a larger shawl (each flower head - in my case - would have added about 2.5cm/1inch of length and about 4 inches of width to the wingspan), blocked it came out at 62cm length along the spine and 170cm wingspan. I can easily knot this around my neck or keep it loose without it sliding off my shoulders, it is a very light shawl and perfect for springtime, I think.
Structurewise, J+S didn’t lose much depth after blocking and because the flower heads are a bit weightier, I expect the shawl to fall nicely (even if it probably won’t drape as much as the Rowan Felted Tweed).
