Notes

I think I found a mistake in the pattern while knitting it, and since I was way to far along to go back to where the problem started with the mistake, I just modified it a little where the head is shaped. Next time I will try to figure out what I need to do to fix the pattern where the repeat is to make it come out correctly.
This yarn I am using is very, very thick and chunky. It is a vintage yarn, I am not sure when it was made. (the Feb 15, 1962 Miami news had an advertisement for it on page 6!) It is a gray color with a violet cast and black whisker-like fibers worked into it. The whole mouse has a very violet tint to it, but it doesn’t show in the pictures.
For the inside of the ears I used lion brand baby wool with three strands held together.
The nose is some chocolate brown wool from a scrap in my stash.
The whiskers are purple mystery wool that I found at the thrift store.
The finished mat is big- 36 1/2” from nose to tail-tip, and 19” wide across the body, not counting legs.
I am going to make more of these soon!
