My brother and sister in law asked me to make my 20 month old nephew Sid a new stuffie. An octopus stuffie in particular, apparently he’s really into octopus right now.

I chose this pattern because of how much it looks like a real octopus. And octopi are really interesting animals so that’s cool.

Originally, I was going to make it in yellow, because I have a lot of yellow yarn. But Sid is insistent that it should be pink, his favorite color, so it’ll be pink.

The octopus doesn’t have a name yet, so that’s to come. I can’t name him Claude because one of our cats is named Clawed and that would be confusing. Any suggestions???

So this is the first crochet project I’ve attempted since I made the frida’s flowers blanket, which messed up my wrist. I replaced all of my crochet hooks with the ergonomic kind. It’ll be interesting to see they help keep me from aggravating my wrist again.
