I’m going to be using a wild hand paint yarn that I bought awhile ago because it was on sale. It sat in my stash since. This years sock madness theme for me is to use all of my stash and not buy any new yarns.

Thus wild hand paint from my stash.

I cast on using the twisted german cast on. I chose to do the ribbed toe.

Smocking is a technique I’ve done before a few times: the spring in her path sweater, the spider socks, and the artichoke socks.

It’s funny, I wikipedia’d smocking, we nowadays think of smocking we think of little girls dresses (think eleven’s dress in stranger things). But smocking was originally invented for mens shirts.

I feel like the back looks much better than the front.
